Scope and content |
This file consists of correspondence regarding the commencement of Custodian operations with respect to Japan and Japanese Canadians. Discussions contained within this file divest early Custodian policy with regards to “enemy aliens” and British subjects. The file contains early
descriptions of anti-Japanese sentiments in British Columbia and recommendations taken by the Custodian to deal with the so-called "Japanese problem." Lists of detained persons and companies
under investigation are also included.
