This file contains correspondence relating to legal status and liquidation (by auction) of property held by the Japanese government in Canada during the war. According to these records, all such property was taken from embassies, legations, etc. and the proceeds of sales were credited to government departments which paid for the Japanese government's outstanding bills (regarding telegraph or rail) after they shut down after the war broke out.
