This file includes correspondence from after and at the close of the sale of Japanese Canadian property by the Custodian of Enemy Property to the Veterans' Land Act, in some cases concerning withdrawn properties from the deal. Included is discussion regarding Japanese Canadians "repurchasing" their property from the VLA at the same price the Custodian sold the properties and correspondence relating to the Bird Commission, in which the Custodian expresses concern that the VLA, in cases where they sold the property for higher fees, did not credit the excess amount to the Custodian.
