Scope and content |
This file contains representations and resolutions from individuals and organizations
to the Government of Canada regarding the treatment of Japanese Canadians during wartime. Records in this file
are concerned with implementing internment procedures and a repatriation policy (e.g.,
newspaper clippings). Also includes correspondence expressing suspicions of Japanese
Canadian loyalty and calling for their removal (much of which demonstrates the fervent
anti-Japanese sentiments of the time), as well as correspondence advocating against
unjust treatment and any actions that might "invite hostile attention to our shores."
