This item is a memorandum, dated 07 August 1941, concerning measures to be taken by the Canadian government in the event of war with Japan. It refers to (but does not include) a report produced by the Special Interdepartmental Committee (with three appendices: Internment, Shipping and Economic Questions, and Trading with the Enemy). This memorandum briefly mentions "fundamental questions of policy" that needed to be decided by government, one of them concerning the extending of the "compulsory" "voluntary" registration of Japanese Canadians and nationals in British Columbia to the rest of Canada.
