Scope and content |
This series comprises seven sub-series containing letters, memoranda, and minutes
pertaining to the following: plans for the west coast of British Columbia in response to a war from Japan; the enlistment of Canadian-born Japanese Canadians (i.e., Nisei) into the Canadian
army; anxieties regarding work camps on the Blue River Highway; the admission of Japanese Canadian students into various universities across
Canada; the handling of war criminals in agreement to the Geneva Conference; the employment
of Japanese Canadians in the lumber industry; the restrictions of travel placed on
Japanese Canadians within Canada; and the enlistment of Japanese Canadians into special duty in Australia.
