Scope and content
This item includes minutes of the War Committee of the Cabinet dated 08 October 1940 concerning the Japanese and Chinese in British Columbia. Prime Minister King spoke of the deteriorated relations with Japan and the increase of anti-Japanese agitation in BC: "the local internal danger was greater than any immediate threat of attack from without." The Minister of National Defence for Air spoke of the "great exaggeration of any possible menace which might exist in the way of assistance to the enemy by local Japanese."
