Scope and content |
This item is minutes of the War Committee of the Cabinet dated 11 March 1943. These minutes discuss the employment of people of Japanese descent
in British Columbia, a matter raised by the Chiefs of Staff who reported that "while there was an objection
to employment of Japanese in the lumber industry within the protected area, the same
objection did not apply to their employment under suitable safeguards outside the
protected areas." The Defence Council concurred in this recommendation.
