Scope and content |
This file contains detailed correspondence regarding the Japanese Canadian properties
taken over by the VLA. It contains discussions on leases as well as a host of other material related to
the administration of the VLA properties. It contains lists of leases and appraisal reports, outlining cases of
crop misrepresentation by Japanese Canadian owners as well as several accounts of
“problem leases” where the legal technicalities of the situation made it difficult
to get new leases signed.
