He was born on 2 December 1906. He was a self-employed fish merchant. His family includes Iku Nakano (mother; nee Iku Hayashi), Iwa Nakano (wife; nee Iwa Shimomura), Shigeko Nakano (daughter), Akemi Nakano (daughter), and Harumi Nakano (daughter). He lived in Steveston, BC. He was forcibly uprooted to Kaslo, BC and exiled to Japan on 2 August 1946.
