Scope and content |
This item is a cheque or receipt stamped "Repatriation" sent in Vancouver, B.C. from
Moichiro Tonomura to the Dominion of Canada's Department of Finance. It contains a
Custodian Free Balance of $195.62. It is dated July 31st, 1946. The document is stamped
"NOT NEGOTIABLE" in red. The document shows that Moichiro Tonomura had to pay a fee
that was the yen equivalent of the proceeds of his property in Canada. It is a small
strip of paper and has "No.976" stamped on the right top corner of the document. On
the bottom of the document there is the signature of the "Controller of the Treasury".
