Scope and content
This series consists of personal and business records of the Tonomura family. Includes official records that correspond to the Tonomura family's immigration and settlement in Canada, forced deportation and re-settlement in Japan in the late 1940s, and then return to Canada in the 1960s. This includes birth and residency records; correspondence pertaining to immigration and refugee status; land titles, lease agreements, and insurance policies in Canada and Japan; receipts from donations to Buddhist Temple in Japan and from the family's yoghurt business. There are also several guest books from family funerals in Japan.
