Scope and content |
This series consists of personal and business records of the Tonomura family. Includes
official records that correspond to the Tonomura family's immigration and settlement
in Canada, forced deportation and re-settlement in Japan in the late 1940s, and then
return to Canada in the 1960s. This includes birth and residency records; correspondence
pertaining to immigration and refugee status; land titles, lease agreements, and insurance
policies in Canada and Japan; receipts from donations to Buddhist Temple in Japan
and from the family's yoghurt business. There are also several guest books from family
funerals in Japan.
