Scope and content
This is a letter from the Department of Social Welfare, sent on 3 November 1966, to Mrs. Tsuma Tonomura. It includes two pages, stapled together. The letter informs her that her application for old age assistance is complete and that, providing that there are no changes to her circumstances, she will begin receive payments effective as from November 1, 1966 at the rate of $75.00. It explains the details of her eligibility and includes a special note that her rate will be decreased once her husband begins receiving old age security as of 1 January 1967. The letter has a signature from K.F. Gillies. The second page is a summary of Tsuma Tonomura’s account with the Old-Age Assistance Board. This letter was contained in an envelop, item 1995.125.2.3.1.
