Scope and content
This is a white envelope with one postage stamp, two postal stamps, and Japanese and English writing. The English writing reads: “Tonomura, John Eiji”. There is also the number “#329” written on the bottom in red pencil. On the verso there is also Japanese script. This envelope contained two written letters. The first letter is written on white paper with blue lines. It is written in English to “Johnny” from his “brother, George”. These are likely Tonomura brothers. The letter relates to a voyage in 1955. George describes that he will send forward a camera and comments on his brothers trip. The letter is dated 20 October 1955. The second letter is written on two pages of white paper with blue lines. It is written in Japanese on three of the four sides.
