Masao Ohashi to Office of the Custodian of Enemy Property , 09 December 1944

St. Augustine's Seminary, Kingston Road, Toronto. Dec. 9, 1944.
Dear Sir:
Regarding to file No. 3315. It is with very deep disappointment that I have learned from your letter to-day that our property of 129 10th Street, New Westminster, B. C. have been sold.
I am only writing to inquire about our furnitures which we had stored in one room of the house. It's value is well over five hundred dollars and nothing is mentioned in the sale statement. We like to know just what happened to it.
Hoping to receive your most kind attention and consideration. I remain.
Yours truly Reg. No. 11518.
Copy for Mr. Shears. File Nos. 3344, 3315, 2377 & 7836

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
