                        Dear Sir:
We wish to acknowledge your letter of the 4th September, and have accordingly noted [?].

While we appreciate that the sale of your property is a matter of personal concern
to you [?] properties was carried out under instruction from the Canadian Government at Ottawa on the basis of appraised valuation. This office is not in a position to consider
                           [?] the matter.

Your letter is being placed on [?] showing your expression, and it will be available at [?].

As we advised you in our letter to you of the 19th February, Pacific Co-operative Union redeemable shares issued in the years 1937 to 1940 inclusive, have been redeemed from time to time and the proceeds as received credited
to your account. These funds you have received. The 1941 shares should be redeemed early next year, and the proceeds will be forwarded to
you at that time if you will forward your share certificate to cover to this office.

                        Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
