For Salt Spring Island, title searchers only searched properties that were owned by
Japanese Canadians or properties that appeared alongside JC-owned properties between
one transaction pre-1942 and 1974. Most of Parcel H does not fall within these search
boundaries because it appears on a title more than one transaction before 1942. As
a result, only the part of Parcel H that became Amended Parcel G (a JC-owned property;
next title 99574I) was searched. (Title searcher worked backwards from 1944 to determine
the title order and which properties were JC-owned.)
