Transfer document was newer than title document despite having the same title number. The owner on the title was listed as The Royal Bank of Canada; however, the transfer document shows the seller as the Royal Bank of Canada and the owner/buyer as Barbican Developments LTD.. As such, the consideration should reflect the what Barbican Developments LTD paid to the Royal Bank of Canada, not what the Royal Bank of Canada paid. Barbican Developments LTD. appeared to have bought many surrounding lots (lots 3 to 11, plus lots 32 and 33 except the north two feet of each lot, now lane.)

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
