This fonds comprises nine series containing Vancouver News Herald newspaper articles from 1938 to 1950 pertaining to Japanese Canadians and the following: fishing licences and restrictions; the seizure of fishing vessels, automobiles, firearms, and radios; the move to ban Japanese Canadians from owning land in British Columbia; seized Japanese Canadian–owned farmland in the Fraser Valley; housing problems in Vancouver and the future of Little Tokyo; the future of Japanese Canadian–owned properties and businesses seized by the Custodian of Enemy Property; revenue gained from forced property sales; financial losses due to forced property sales; and the loss claims of Japanese Canadians and the Japanese Property Claims Commission.
