Matakichi Ishida
Ishida was born on 25 May 1889. He was a fisherman employed by North Pacific Cannery,
Vancouver, BC. His family includes Nami Ishida (mother; nee Nami Hamade; in Japan),
Sojiro Ishida (father; deceased at time of file), Ume Ishida (wife; nee Ume Nishi;
in Japan), Masako Ishida (daughter), and Tennichi Ishida (son; in Japan). He lived
in Steveston, BC, was forcibly uprooted to Solsqua, BC, and was exiled to Japan on
13 June 1946. His listed seized property includes: boat “Ishida,” also known as “M.I.”;
fishing equipment.
