Itakura was born on 3 October 1916. He was a a former fisherman. His family includes
Yae Itakura (mother; nee Yae Nagai; deceased at time of file), Shikazo Itakura (father;
deceased at time of file), and Mariko Itakura (wife; nee Mariko Kajiura). His home
address is listed as House #8, Great West Cannery, Steveston, BC. It was a two storey,
six room frame house. He was forcibly uprooted to New Denver and to 71 Jackson Street
West, Hamilton, ON on 11 September 1946. His address as of 8 October 1946 is listed
as 501 James Street North, Hamilton, ON. His listed seized property includes his boat
“I.I.” purchased by Frederick C. Giblin, lines and corks (some purchased by Great
West Cannery), household goods, and a General Electric S-22 radio.
