Bloedel, B.C. Camp 4 Jan.26*42.
Marine, Building,
Vancouver.
Dear Sir:
Would you kindly send me a list of the Jap vessels to be disposed of. I am interested in a good troller, anything from four hundred to seven hundred dollars cash money. Can you do this? Or would a person have to be down there to get any information on the following:
Do you have to own property along the Fraser River to fish there? Does the trolling up around the Queen Charlotte Islands, say at Sandspit on one of the most northerly Islands start at the same time as down this way? If a person purchased a boat, would the C.P.R. or Union boats going north, take it up, as I am not experienced enough to take a boat up coast, or would that cost too much. I would appreciate hearing from you.
Oblige,
W.R.Gares.

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
