Edmonton, Alberta
Dear Sir:
Could you please give me some information on the Japanese fishing boats. Are they for sale or lease. What is the average price of these boats, also the average condition of same.
What are the chances of making a living at fishing. What would be the average catch, and the price paid per hundred pound weight for salmon and Halibut? Is there anything in the rumour of fishing for shark for their liver?
I also would like to know if all the fishing gear, such as nets, and everything that pertains to fishing, is intact. In fact, all the information you can get for me on this matter.
Thanking you, and hoping for an early reply.
I remain, Yours sincerely,
"G. Russell Weir"

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
