This file contains general correspondence maintained by F.A. Brewin from August 1947. It includes the following: a copy of Order-in-Council P.C. 3737; statement by the CCJC on property claims; lengthy schedule of Bird Commission preparation and proceedings and bill fees from Campbell & Co.; and general correspondence regarding Japanese claims and broadening of terms of reference. [In particular, the file captures Brewin's attempts to meet with members of parliament (including Gibson) during August to discuss the terms of reference. Brewin comes against the constraints of everyone's (including his own) summer vacation schedule.]
