This file contains fairly voluminous records from April 1942-April 1943 of the Department of Fisheries related to the Japanese Fishing Vessel Disposal Committee. Included within this file are weekly reports of the Fishing Vessel Disposal Committee (including statistics on sales), lists of Japanese Canadian–owned fishing vessels,
correspondence related to turning over the work of the JFVDC to the Custodian, and numerous treatises to J.A. Motherwell regarding purchasing fishing vessels.
