This file consists of a Department of Labour file with the sub-subject "Commissioner's Directive Orders." It contains a series of RCMP reports concerning the security and control of Japanese Canadians. It includes information on travel restrictions and the placement of a number of Japanese Canadian individuals into work camps both inside and outside of BC (e.g. Tashme, Neys, Angler, Kapuskasing, Lethbridge, Rosebery). Matters predominantly concern infractions made by Japanese Canadian individuals. Several reports contain details about these infringements and charges (including statements from witnesses). Many suggestions for deportation are also within this file's correspondence.
