This file contains documents concerning the Department of Lands, Victoria and their alleged intention not to sell any property to people of Japanese descent, as of 1947. This is outlined in Department of Labour correspondence, evidenced by correspondence outlining the case of Eddie Y. Hamakawa, a Japanese Canadian man, who wished to buy property in Victoria but was being refused. The file also contains documents listing questions about people of Japanese descent who had entered Canada between 01 April 1939 and 31 March 1947 and questions and answers from the government on Japanese Canadians and sabotage.
