This file contains correspondence of A. MacNamara, primarily with T.B. Pickersgill and Austin C. Taylor, concerning the activities of the Department of Labour, Japanese Division and British Columbia Security Commission. Included are reports from Pickersgill to MacNamara outlining the activities of the Department of Labour, from the purchase of equipment to larger initiatives concerning Japanese labour (particularly the question of sugar beet farms). The file also includes early correspondence from 1942 concerning the initial stages of "evacuation" (e.g., placement in Hastings Park, within or outside British Columbia, work camps).
