Scope and content |
The collection consists of a catalogue of real property for sale by public tender
- Sept 1, 1943. Published by The Department of the Secretary of State - Office of
the Custodian - Japanese Evacuation Section, 506 Royal Bank Building, Vancouver BC.
The catalogue lists addresses and block numbers of properties in the Vancouver, Burnaby,
North and West Vancouver areas which were owned by Japanese Canadians and offered
for sale to the public. The addresses primarily consist of Powell Street, Cordova
Street, Alexander Street, Selkirk Street, Trinity Street, Victoria Drive, West 1st,
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 10th Avenues. It is a good reference for addresses
owned by Japanese Canadians and sold by the custodian in 1943.
