lists contain only the name of individuals from Lemon Creek, Popoff and Bay Farm (Bay
Farm however has the addition of a hand drawn map). The more complex lists are Greenwood,
Sandon, Kaslo, Slocan City and New Denver and include categories like name, age, year,
years in Canada, place of birth, sex, spouse, cause of death, occupation. An additional
set of lists created by Watson in December 2017 include a list of those who died in
Tashme.

Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
