This fonds comprises seven series pertaining to the following: correspondence between K.W. Wright and F.G. Shears; correspondence and reports pertaining to the scope, structure, operations, and staff of the Office of the Custodian and the Japanese Property Claims Commission; the Bird Commission claim of Eikichi Kagetsu and the Deep Bay Logging Company; the Advisory Committee on Rural Properties; Department of National War Services intercepted correspondence and phone calls; various news clippings pertaining broadly to the treatment and dispossession of Japanese Canadians in Canada and the anti-Japanese sentiment at the time; the Standing Committee on Public Accounts; "Trading with the Enemy" and "Defence of Canada" regulations; House of Commons of Canada debates; Orders-in-Council; the British Columbia Security Commission; and real estate agents in British Columbia.

Shears, Frank Gould created this archive during his role as director of the Vancouver branch of the office of the Custodian of Enemy Property.
