Notes |
This transaction is a vendor's agreement for assignment of sale.
Joseph Guilmette is the assignor, Peter Dick is the assignee, and Gabriel Santek is
the purchaser. Santek has a sub-right to purchase. The original RP agreement was between
the assignor and Harold George Shepard for $17500. Another person, Paul Justus Pulle
took over Shepard's RP agreement as a sub-RP, and then finally Santek took over Pulle's
SRP agreement. At the time of this indenture, there was still $7976.38 owing and unpaid
on the original RP agreement, at 6% interest per annum. This explains why the consideration
is so much lower than the market value.

Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
