Originally published in English. Moved from Vancouver to Kaslo in 1942 and continued publishing during the war years in English and Japanese. The BC Security Commission provided the paper with funding at this time so that it could advise Japanese Canadians of relevant notices, orders, etc.

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession.
