This file contains a civic resolution requesting that the federal government incarcerate citizens of Japanese origin and a further resolution calling for the re-establishment of a committee “dealing with the Japanese” comprising of Mayor F. Hume, Col. A.W. Sparling and Col. McGregor McIntosh; also a resolution for the federal government to “repatriate” interned Japanese-Canadians to Japan. And this file contains drafts of proposed Vancouver Charter amendments (1938); of note is a proposal to give the city power of “slum clearance” and the power to limit the issuing of business licenses to “persons of Asiatic extraction.”
