Chief Supervisor of Fisheries,
Winch Building,
Vancouver, B.C.
Dear sir:
I would greatly appreciate any information you could forward to me regarding the disposal of the Japanese fishing vessels that have been impounded.
I have had quite a few years experience around the fishing grounds and on the Canadian National Coastal Service. I also hold Q.D.M. discharges, also lifeboat end sail certificate, so I am certain that any boat that is in my care would be properly cared for and handled.
Please give the details about (be renting, leasing or buying of the said equipment, and oblige
Thos. E. Jones

Terminology

Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice. See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
