Dear Sir:
The Dominion Govt. referred me to your good self for information regarding the purchase
of a fishing boat. I understand that due to the war situation these are fishing boats
which belonged to the Japs which are now laid up and which can be purchased.
Myself and two brothers have three thousand dollars (3000) available for such a venture.
I would appreciate your writing me regarding our possibilities and also on estimate
of how much we might realize as a profit during one year. I know that you cannot quote
me a guaranteed profit but as I have only operated as a lake fisherman, I have no
idea how profitable salmon fishing is. I would appreciate very much receiving as much
information as possible as outlined above.
Yours very truly,
Jack Dunn.

Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
