This file contains general correspondence maintained by F.A. Brewin from January 1946. It includes the following: further correspondence on the deportation orders (P.C. 7355, 7356, 7357) and discussions of their validity; letters of concern regarding the "repatriation"; correspondence concerning the Supreme Court case to test the validity (Reference case); correspondence regarding signing the "voluntary" declaration forms under coercion; preparatory correspondence regarding the Supreme Court Reference case; correspondence with A. MacNamara; and correspondence regarding alleged “stars” received by RCMP officers for obtaining signatures for "repatriation" (based on Grace Tucker’s testimony).
