This file consists of a Department of Labour file titled "Compulsory Transfer of Japanese Canadians to Eastern Hostels," sub-subject
"Placement and Relocation Plans." It contains documents regarding the relocation of
Japanese Canadians from Kaslo, BC further east to Ontario, including correspondence
between Department of Labour officials discussing the details of this relocation. This file also contains documents
related to the categorization of the employment of Japanese Canadians in British Columbia's interior, including copies of a detailed Japanese Canadian employment summary as
of April 30th, 1945.
