Scope and content	This fonds comprises three series regarding the War Measures Act, war-time protection and other measures, decisions of an advisory committee regarding the treatment of "enemy persons" in Canada, and an interview transcript of John E. Read discussing the Department of External Affairs.
Name of creator	Read, John Erskine, 1888-1973 , lawyer and legal scholar, created this archive and gave it to the LAC in 1969.
Immediate source of acquisition	The digital copies of the records were acquired by the Landscapes of Injustice Research Collective between 2014 and 2018.
