Scope and content |
This file consists of Volume No. 1 of a Department of Labour file with the sub-subject "Future Japanese Policy." It contains much correspondence,
primarily between T.B. Pickersgill and A. MacNamara concerning the "Segregation and Relocation" (or forced dispersal and repatriation/deportation
policies) procedure to be taken by the Department of Labour (Japanese Placement). Included are extensive discussions of the proposed policy from
November 1942 to November 1945.
