Scope and content |
This file includes correspondence, memoranda, and records pertaining to the possible
return to Canada of Japanese Canadians who were deported. It includes: correspondence
discussing resistance to repatriation (e.g. for reasons including the need of labourers
in sugar beet farms); discussions of the return of Japanese Canadian individuals and
the question of compensating the government for the expenses spent on their repatriation;
and broader considerations of re-entry into Canada of Japanese Canadians.
