Scope and content |
This sub-series contains seven files comprising Department of Labour Intercepted Letters files. These files contain documents from the Department of National War Services, Directorate of Censorship with excerpts from intercepted letters of Japanese Canadians and comments from those
who examined said letters. The excerpts, many of which are indicated to have been
translated from Japanese to English, regard the experiences and living conditions
of forcibly uprooted Japanese Canadians across Canada, the forced seizure and sale
of the property of Japanese Canadians, and the forcible exile to Japan of Japanese Canadians.
