Scope and content |
This series comprises thirteen files containing various newspaper clippings collected
by Yasutaro Yamaga and writings and articles by Yamaga. Material pertains to the following: the forced sale of property; Yamaga's resignation; the Bird Commission; labour disputes; the Doukhobors; British Columbian “pioneers”; coronation plans;
the history of Japanese Canadians Haney; the Maple Ridge Santa Claus fund; "Japanese Spirit and the Nisei"; "Japanese Positive Union Vote
and the Ku Klux Klan"; the co-operative movement in the Fraser Valley; the history of Japanese Canadian farming activities in BC; and the history of the Haney Agricultural Association. Much of the material is in Japanese. Also included is a photograph of a funeral
procession and a few postcards and cards.
