This series comprises thirty-five sub-series containing correspondence, reports, newspaper clippings, and various letters pertaining to a wide variety of issues: fishing regulations off the coast of Alaska, USA; the mayors of the British Columbian municipalities; property ownership regarding the Hutterites of southern Alberta; a report from the Department of Fisheries regarding Japanese Canadian fishing licences; the building progress of a highway north of Kaslo, British Columbia; minutes from a convention in Qualicum for the Union of British Columbian Municipalities; correspondence between Premier John Hart and the British Columbia Fruit Growers’ Association regarding polls on the Hope-Princeton Highway; a report regarding Vancouver housing; a report called "the housing situation in Vancouver"; licences regarding salting salmon; reports regarding anti-Japanese hostilities towards Nikkei communities; correspondence regarding enlisting Japanese Canadians in the army during World War II; correspondence between Premier Hart to Prime Minister Mackenzie King regarding Japanese Canadian populations; discussion of education of Japanese Canadians and conditions of Japanese Canadian labour work camps; a report of a Canadian "repatriate" located in north China; a Japanese Canadian work project in Cawston, British Columbia; a report from the Department of Commonwealth Relations regarding "economic rivalry between white and non-white races"; the trade of lumber to Japan; a protest letter from a white Canadian complaining about the renewal of Japanese Canadian fishing licences; correspondence concerning the registration and internment of enemy aliens; a petition from the Canadian Brotherhood of Railway Employees demanding the removal of Japanese Canadians from the coast of British Columbia; and a report regarding the changing rights of Japanese Canadians by the end of World War II, including lifted Japanese Canadian voting rights.
