Scope and content
A letter, dated November 2, 1943, from Ferdinando de Kobbe, Consul for Spain, (Vancouver) to Jisaburo Wakabayashi (in his capacity as Spokesman for the Japanese Nationals of Rosebery). The letter reads:
“Dear Sir;
I wish to take this opportunity of placing before your committee the request that you compile a list of all the Japanese Nationals in your centre, showing their registration numbers, ages, location of dependents and location prior to evacuation if possible. This information will be very helpful in my work as representative of the Protecting Power for Japanese Interests in Canada.
Will you also advise me of all deaths amongst Japanese Nationals since evacuation; also keep me advised of any subsequent deaths.”
Name of creator
Henry Wakabayashi is the founder of Pacific Liaicon Ltd., he has helped many major projects such as the Vancouver Sky Train, the expansion of the Vancouver International Airport and the Metro Vancouver drinking water treatment program.
